Education/Experience Requirements

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Operation Supervision

Oversee calibration and maintenance of field and laboratory testing equipment, tools and gauges, and maintain and update equipment inventory and calibration records.

Supervise the efficient utilization of facilities and equipment assigned to his or her area and makes requests for additional equipment and facilities as needed to meet the client’s demands.

Plan, coordinate, plan and conduct the training of construction inspectors, and laboratory & field technicians.

Mentor and train construction engineering inspectors and technicians on inspection, sampling and testing procedures.

Evaluate the performance of inspectors and technicians and assists them in their professional development and growth, consistent with company policies and procedures.

RSO and Safety Management

Serve as the HSE Coordinator leading safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines.

Assist the Corporate HSE Manager in reporting and investigating safety incidents.

Lead pre-task safety planning for all projects.

Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

Serve as the Fleet Vehicle Coordinator managing fleet vehicles assigned to his or her operations.

Business Development/Administration

Assist Management during preparation of proposals and cost estimates for CMT services to ensure a proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and appropriate pricing to render a profit.

Provide supplemental operating policies and procedures unique to the laboratory to ensure that the testing services are accomplished consistent with Beyond’s quality protocol and in an orderly and efficient manner.

Basic/Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.

Have and maintain five (5) or more following certifications:

ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician

ACI Aggregate Testing Technician

TxAPA SB101, SB103, SB201 and/or SB202 in soil/base

The Driller will be responsible for moving, set up and operation drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test boring. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on construction sites.

Job Responsibilities

Mobilization and demobilization of drill rig trucks for jobs as directed.

Daily field and yard operations of rig, i.e., handling drill pipe, mixing drill mud and use of other related equipment.

Perform various techniques of drilling including auger drilling, mud rotary, air rotary, carbide bit coring, and diamond bit coring.

Perform various types of soil and rock sampling including standard penetration test, Texas cone penetration, and Shelby tubes.

Install groundwater monitoring well, piezometers, and inclinometers.

Able to locate boring using a handheld GPS unit or a GPS phone application.

Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.

Program future field equipment and supply needs weekly, monthly, and quarterly

Direct helper in drilling under various conditions and to obtain soil and rock samples; performs other duties as assigned.

Direct and/or assist the Helper in performing general maintenance of the drilling rig and its associated equipment to ensure safe operational conditions.

Meet all utilization goals as determined by Project Engineer and/or supervisor.

Perform shop/yard duties as assigned.

Role Requirements

-Graduation from high school or GED certification.

-A person in this position generally, but not necessarily, has a minimum of 5 years of experience in:

  • Roadway, and related facilities, construction inspection;
  • Sampling and testing of soil, base, concrete and paving materials;
  • Reporting daily inspections within TxDOT SiteManager.

-Extensive knowledge of

  • Highway construction plans, construction inspection procedures, and specifications;
  • Materials used in highway construction;

-Considerable knowledge of
